While waiting for my therapist, I looked up. I had been in the waiting room over a dozen times, but had never noticed the mysterious door.
Hoping for some perspective, I asked, “What is up with that door?”
“What do you see?” the therapist said.
I rolled my eyes, and laughed. “I should have known this would be your reply.”
The next time I sat in the waiting area, I looked up. What did I see?
Perhaps it was the place I was trying to reach. I shot out of the chair and found the stairs. This came easy. Pressing up them proved difficult. Once at the top, I caught my breath but still had to find the door. After a few dead ends, there it was, at the end of the darkest corridor. I almost turned around, yet something drew me closer to the obscurity. Heart racing, I grabbed the knob and opened the door. Now I saw a possible descent. If I fell, I would end up right where I had begun. So, there I was looking down; taking in a new perspective. I snickered and said, “Well, it looks like I have found what I came here for.”
